about the gallery

Annabel Wallace Gallery opened in April 2005. It is the first commercial gallery in the Murringo / Young area. The vision of the gallery is to show emerging local and regional artists as well as exhibit more established contemporary artists from all around Australia. The driving force behind this initiative is to give the local and regional community access to high quality exhibitions.

Focusing on changing exhibitions along with a very busy children’s art program and artist workshops the gallery aims at providing the local community with a range of facilities and exhibitions in which to participate and enjoy. The stockroom contains a significant collection of works by artists in various mediums including unframed works on paper and original jewellery.

Annabel studied at the College of Fine Arts in Sydney obtaining a Bachelor of Art Theory Degree and a Masters Degree in Arts Administration, during which time she spent two months doing an internship at the National Gallery of the USA, Washington DC. After working in commercial galleries in Paddington for five years, she moved to a publicly funded art organisation before moving to Murringo.
